The last few months have been difficult for many, and I hope that you are coping as best as possible in the circumstances. While it might be tough to think of anything beyond the pandemic right now, I want to share a couple of our plans for this and next year:

Unfortunately, there will not be an ICT4D Conference in April/May 2021. We fear the pandemic will not allow for an international audience to gather safely by then.

However, we continue to regularly host webinars and discussions about emerging good practices, showcase successful ICT4D projects, and learn about application opportunities for innovation, data and digital transformation.

ICT4D WEBINAR:
Skills and Standards for a Digital Workforce

Thursday September 17, 10-11am EDT / 2-3pm GMT

As part of our ongoing ICT4D Webinar series with NetHope, offering actionable advice from and for practitioners, we have gathered a diverse speaker panel to share firsthand insights on identifying ICT core competencies, the process of developing skill standards, and managing distant learning for a digitally skilled workforce.

Hear from our speakers:
- Jodi Lis, Senior Advisor, Learning, IntraHealth International
- Derrick Muneene, Unit Head, Capacity Building & Collaboration, Digital Health & Innovation Dept., WHO
- Michael Culligan, Co-Founder, Pyramid Learning
- Richard Heeks, Professor of Digital Development, Global Development Institute, University of Manchester

Register NOW and engage with in a discussion on trends and gaps in ICT capacities, application of emerging technologies, and importance of soft skills; and how the development and humanitarian sector can become more inclusive and support a global digital capacity building to further local leadership.

NEW PODCAST:
Listen to ICT4D experts anywhere, anytime!

Whether you are in a traffic jam in Lagos or having breakfast in your kitchen at home, our short audio clips are easily accessible. A new interview about current digital development innovations, trends, or good practice will be released each Friday for you to listen to at your own time.

Today our first episode welcomes Karl Lowe, CIO at CRS, to share insights on their agency-wide ICT priorities and strategy, or as he refers to as his “High Five Focus Areas”.

We’ve been toying with the idea of a searchable ICT4D content library for some time, and the current crisis and need for learning at a distance has underlined its value even more.

As subscriber of our ICT4D Conference newsletter, you are invited to preview the brand new ICT4D Resource Directory and browse through past recordings and publications, as well as upcoming events, by us and our partners. More content to follow shortly.
